Emblème de la Fondation Amel

The Amel Foundation

La Fondation Amel

Amel means “hope” in Arabic — it is my mother’s name. Like our emblem, an orchid reblooming from a cracked base mended in gold, this foundation cultivates hope wherever it is needed : here in Québec with young people, and around the world.

Restorative justice & youth

In Québec, art in the service of healing : restorative-justice workshops run in collaboration with the Fondation québécoise pour les jeunes contrevenants (FQJC) and Québec’s youth protection authority (DPJ).

$3,000

Fundraiser for the FQJC

I raised $3,000 with Fondation Desjardins for the Fondation québécoise pour les jeunes contrevenants, to promote the social reintegration of young people who have experienced trauma.

$2,000

Forces Avenir bursary

Founder of the Voix Libres charitable project. I design restorative-justice workshops on a volunteer basis — as a self-taught art therapist and mediator — funded by a Forces Avenir laureate’s bursary, redistributed in full to an artist survivor and to the young participants to offer them educational and creative materials.

Over $5,000 mobilized for Québec youth 🌱

Humanitarian engagement & fundraising

As a member and ambassador of the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB/PEI) at École de la Magdeleine, I put my skills as a documentary maker and humanitarian video producer to work for tangible causes.

$1,500

For Syrian refugees

A fundraising drive for Syrian refugees, through a video and awareness project.

$4,000

For AIPE-CCI

Funds raised for AIPE-CCI to help prevent child labour, as part of my engagement as the IB programme’s humanitarian documentary maker.

$5,500 raised as documentary maker & IB ambassador 🎥
